The Research Institute for Asia and the Pacific (RIAP) is a leadership education and research project management unit within the International Portfolio of the University of Sydney. Founded in 1987, RIAP has two core functions:

Initiating, designing and managing multidisciplinary international research projects for the University of Sydney
Developing and facilitating education programs for international and Australian leaders from public and private sector organisations

RIAP’s activities support and contribute to the international engagement priorities of the University of Sydney. They also play a role in supporting the foreign policy outreach activities of the Australian government and organisations, and the capacity building needs of countries in Asia and the Pacific.
